Join the DSC

After three trial swims you are encouraged to become a full member of the Downtown Swim Club. Our club is entirely self-funding, so membership fees must cover all expenses (e.g. coaching, lifeguarding, and pool rental). A portion of membership fees are paid to Masters Swimming Ontario (MSO), which provides liability insurance coverage and also entitles you to compete in MSO sanctioned swim meets if you wish.

You may join the Downtown Swim Club at any time - we practice year round. Your membership starts the day you join, and expires September 30 (when all memberships expire). Membership consists of $35.00 for the Masters Swimming Ontario registration fee, $20.00 for the Downtown Swim Club annual membership fee, plus approximately $31.00/month DSC member user fees. DSC member user fees are pro-rated depending on the month that you join (e.g. if you joined in February, you'd pay $35 MSO, plus $20.00 annual fee. plus $246 DSC user fees (8 months@ $30.75/month) for a total of $293).

If you only want to swim occasionally, then our swim card is a very affordable option for you to consider: $35 MSO, $20.00 DSC annual member fee, plus $70 for 10 swims, $100 for 15 swims or $130 for 20 swims. Swim cards expire 3 months after the date they are issued.

Special Notes

• Full payment of membership dues is required when joining the club, after your three trial swims.
• Triggerfish (waterpolo) fees are handled separately. The fees outlined here cover swimming only. Swim cards issued to Triggerfish members expire on September 30.  The DSC also offered a reduced membership rate ($5 off per month) to Triggerfish members.
• Cheques are payable to Downtown Aquatic Corporation.
• All members receive our FABULOUS e-newsletter, WetScream!
• All memberships in the Downtown Swim Club expire September 30 of each year.
• No one will be excluded membership if payment of fees would cause financial hardship; individuals who are unable to pay the full amount should discuss their situation with the membership co-ordinator on a confidential basis.
